Gary H. Williams, 84, of Billings, MT, passed away on Sunday, January 20, 2019, surrounded by his family. He was born on November 19, 1934 in Winona, Minnesota to Howard and Margery Williams. On April 14, 1962, he married Marilyn Fetting in St. Paul, Minnesota and they were married for 56 years.
Gary was the most stubborn, opinionated and head strong man you would ever meet, and he was not afraid to tell you about it, and yet when he loved, he loved with all his heart.
Gary loved adventure and the great outdoors. He loved trap shooting and walleye fishing and always wanted to help others experience the adventure including his wife and kids. Albeit begrudgingly at times. Whether walleye fishing, camping or trap shooting, he always looked forward to the next adventure. No matter what, he always had an amazingly crazy story to tell, whether it was the thrill of the hunt, the one that got away, either fish or target, or the too many “Moose Milks” that were consumed. He loved life and we loved him!
Gary served as a Radio Man flying with VP-40 Fighting Marlins for the U.S. Navy in the Korean War from 1956 to 1959. An assignment he loved and talked about often.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents Howard F. and Margery S. Williams and his beloved sister Sandra Williams and his beloved Black Lab Smokey. He is survived by his loving wife Marilyn A. Williams of Billings, MT, his daughter Marni L. Allen of Lockwood, MT, his grand children Callie & Steven Allen, and his son Jeff Williams of Green River, WY.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00am Friday, January 25, 2019 at the Heights Family Funeral Home, 733 West Wicks Lane, Billings, MT.
We love you Dad and you will be greatly missed! Rest in peace and FLY HIGH!
