Richard “Dick” Smith
Richard passed away and joined his wife Phyllis on Monday, November 12, 2018. Richard was born on November 14, 1938 and was raised in Billings. After graduating from Senior High, he joined the Air Force as an airplane mechanic from 1957-1962, and after leaving the service he found his true passion – locksmithing. He started out at Fisher Lock, then opened up Dick’s Keys. After marrying the love of his life Phyllis, they started The Lock Shop, running the business until Dick’s retirement in 2001. After his brief retirement, he needed something to do and decided to go to work for his youngest daughter Lacy at West End Lock and Security. Officially retiring in 2012, he spent his days with his oldest daughter Becci (Clint) Burdette and granddaughter Ryver, his pride and joy, his “Best Bud”. His huge personality and booming voice will be greatly missed. A gathering of friends will be held at West End Lock and Security on Friday December 14th from 2-4 p.m. All are welcome to come and celebrate Dick with coffee and cookies.
