Richard M. (Dick) Scroggins, age 71, of Billings, Montana passed away December 23, 2018 with his family at his side after a long battle with C.O.P.D.  Dick was born in Carlinville, Illinois February 4, 1947 and had lived in Michigan, Missouri, and Colorado before moving to Montana.

Dick had worked for Caterpillar Equipment Company, The State of Illinois, Moffat County Colorado, and owned three businesses prior to retiring.  Before moving to Montana in 2013 he had lived in Colorado for 26 years where he was a member of the Delta United Methodist Church, served as the Vice President of the Delta County area Crime Stoppers, volunteered with Boy Scout Troop 485, the Garnet Mesa Elementary after-school reading program in Delta, and the House of Promise in Olathe where he and his wife, Joyce, taught interviewing and employment skills to residents.

Dick lived his life to the fullest hunting, fishing, camping, and hiking the mountains of Colorado with his wife and family.  He spent hours just cruising the back country roads and exploring where they would take him.

Dick is survived by his wife of 35 years, Joyce; son Joe and granddaughter Olivia of St. Louis, Missouri; daughter Lesa and grandsons Andrew, Michael, and Luke of San Marcos, California; son Curtis (Dallas) and grandson Alaric of Billings, Montana; brother Jim (Nancy) of Jefferson City, Missouri; and his nieces Jamie and Sara, and nephew Michael.

A memorial will be held in Illinois in the summer of 2019 to celebrate his life in honor of the special husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend that we all loved so dearly.
