Ashton Davis Schumacher

Ashton Davis Schumacher was born February 25, 1986 in Aberdeen, South Dakota to Lisa (Davis) Schumacher and Milo Schumacher.  She was taken from our world on this Earth on April 12th, 2019. Her fragile little heart and body could not sustain her any longer.  She went to a safe place where she would no longer suffer, to live again in the hands of our Lord God.

Ashton attended grade school in Aberdeen, SD and Billings, MT.  Ashton graduated High School in 2004 from Skyview High School, also in Billings, MT.

After High School Ashton moved to Sioux Falls, SD and studied Cosmetology at Stewarts School of Hairstyling and earned her Cosmetology License.  Upon graduation Ashton worked in Sioux Falls as a Cosmetologist for several years.

Ashton returned to Billings in 2011 and worked in retail at Sally Beauty Supply, then Bold Beauty Supply.  At the time of her passing Ashton was pursuing a Certificate in Medical Billing and Coding and looking forward to a new career.

Ashton was very intelligent and graduated from High School with 3.5GPA.  I have heard many stories from friends of hers that she was always there to help them in bettering their grades in Biology and Mathematics.  Ashton also enjoyed participating in Honor Choir and German Class.  She especially loved her German teacher Frau.

Her greatest joy was spending time with her siblings from the union of Milo Schumacher and Theresa (Bieber) Schumacher.  She so loved having them in her life and being a big sister.  She would stop at her grandparents with the family van, little ones in tow, and be so proud to be playing mother hen to them.

Ashton was a free spirit, beautiful and fierce, crazy and wonderful. She really loved being an individual.  Her hair color, style, and outfits were like the colors of the rainbow. Her favorite band was IAMX.  She met many people at the IAMX concerts with whom she formed a kinship.  She was planning to attend upcoming concerts in Denver and Salt Lake City.  Ashton enjoyed music and had quite the repertoire of genres in her music library.  Artists from David Bowie, T Rex, Fiona Apple, 90s Pop, Marilyn Manson, Industrial Dance, A Perfect Circle, Alice in Chains.  The list goes on and on but she particularly enjoyed non-commercial alternative music.

Ashton tried desperately to hide her sensitive side but those who had the opportunity, know how kind and caring she truly was. She possessed an ability to feel what others were feeling.  This was a difficult gift that often caused her great stress and anxiety.  Her sense of humor was often ironic and sarcastic but meant to be enjoyed, and her wit was infamous. She was a joy to behold.  Ashton had a beautiful singing voice, a delicate beauty, and many talents she hid from most but shared with those closest to her.  The facets of her being and light she emitted touched so many. Ashton loved her two Siamese kitties Soba and Keiko.  To her they were her children. Ashton listed as an organ donor.  Her corneas were donated so that 2 blind individuals will regain their sight as was her wish.  She was generous to a fault and would help anybody that was in need.

Ashton was preceded in death by her father Milo Schumacher who was taken from this world in 2006 when she was 20 years old.  In 2010 her maternal grandfather Richard Davis passed away also.  These two events had a tragic effect on her wellbeing.  She never quite recovered from the loss of these two men who loved, doted, and cherished her.  She is also preceded in death by her maternal grandmother Levina Davis who loved spoiling and babysitting Ashton.

Ashton is survived by her mother Lisa L. Davis, Step Father Joel Vig, Step Mother Theresa Schumacher, Grandparents Leo and Verna Schumacher, her siblings Trent Goetz, Tia Schumacher, Bailey Schumacher, Skylar Schumacher, Luka Schumacher, Caden Schumacher, and Danton Schumacher.  Aunts Jeannie Rousseau, Vickie (Doug) Mundt, and Heidi Bratkiewicz.  Ashton also has a very large extended family of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins whom reside in South Dakota, North Dakota, Arizona, California, Wisconsin, Montana, Tennessee, Germany. I must mention her very close friend Sarah Petry, whom we could not have gotten through this without.  Ashton was engaged to a wonderful multifaceted man, Ted Rose, who cherished every moment he had with her.  She loved Ted so very much and was the happiest in her life being with this incredible man. She had finally met her soulmate and was taken from him too soon. He will always be a part of our family.

A visitation will be held Thursday April 18 from 5-8pm at Heights Family Funeral Home.
