Luis Pedro Rodriguez, 63 years old, of Billings, Montana, passed away peacefully from complications of chronic medical issues on May 23, 2020. Luis was born in Billings to Refugio “Henry” and Cecilia “Sally” (Murillo) Rodriguez on July 6, 1956. He attended and graduated Laurel High School where he excelled in basketball, football and track & field. He worked for the United States Postal Service for nearly 30 years and during that time, met his present wife Carrie (Morehouse) Rodriguez. When he married Carrie, he added her 3 children Rosie (Aaron) Rea, David Carlson, and Chelsea (Eric) Edwards to his family.

Luis was diagnosed with cancer while still a young man in his 40s. With his strong will and Rodriguez stubbornness, Luis was able to beat the odds. For the next 17 years, he was able to enjoy quality time with his family and friends.

Luis is preceded in death by his father Refugio Rodriguez, mother Cecilia Rodriguez and his brother Pedro “Pete” Rodriguez.

Luis is survived by his current wife Carrie Rodriguez, sisters Nini (James) Branstetter, Virgi (Jerry) Jones, brother Manuel Rodriguez, and his 4 children Nicholas (Stephanie) Rodriguez, Katie Rodriguez, Kelcie (Justin) Rodriguez-Peterson, and Enrico Rodriguez. Luis will be missed by his 14 grandchildren and his many friends and family.

Luis will be remembered for his warm heart and expressive storytelling. He had the ability to make new friends wherever he went and made everyone feel welcome and special. He had a special knack for not only remembering the names of everyone he met, but their addresses too, due to his many years working in the post office. He will be greatly missed by everyone.

Due to current restrictions, a small celebration of his life will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to angelflightwest.org.
