Ralph G. Nelson, born February 21, 1928 in Forsyth, MT, passed away at the Butterfly Home Assisted Living facility in Billings on January 20, 2019. A good long life lived first in Forsyth, then Glendive, 30 years in Lewistown, then finally in Billings. Ralph was well respected as a cowboy, ranch manager, meat inspector, horseshoer, father, grandfather, and friend. Ralph regretted leaving Lewistown and the fine friends he had made there. While in Glendive Ralph was a meat inspector and a horseshoer while raising some cattle and kids north of town off the Sidney highway. Ralph always enjoyed coming back to Glendive to visit and the memories of his fine friends there.
Ralph was preceded in death by his wife, Natalie, of nearly 60 years in 2013. He is survived by his sons: Tim of Eagle River, AK and Craig (Ann) of Lawtey, FL; his daughters: Mary Louise Nelson and Tracy (Chuck) Schott of Billings; grandchildren: Deshay Nelson, Shawna Nelson, Dallas Nelson, and Kelly Smith; and three great-grandchildren.
He is fondly remembered and sorely missed.
A Memorial Service will at 11:00 am on Saturday, June 15, 2019 at the Forsyth Senior Center.
