Robert Lynch, sr., 87, born November 29, 1930 to Mildred Lynch and Joseph Lynch, passed away peacefully on September 27, 2018 surrounded by his family. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Dee and his four daughters, Karen Helmick of Iowa, Barbara Strelow of Texas, Sheila Lynch of Kansas, and Patricia Berger of Montana, as well as his four step children, Lucinda Osborn of Washington, Russel Black of Montana, Carl Black of Wyoming, and DeGe Twet of Montana.
Robert was preceded in death by his two sons, John and Robert Jr., his step daughter, Penny Martin and his three sisters, Helen, Doris and Ellie all of Montana.
Robert joined the Armed Forces at the age of 17. After serving his country he became a public servant as superintendent of schools in several different districts until retiring in 1986. Then he served the public as a counselor for Vocational Rehabilitation. He also served as an Elder for the Community of Christ Church for 35 years and served as a minister for 24 of those years.
We will miss Bob’s Irish Sailor Toons, His entertaining golf stories, especially his hole-in-one story, and his Christian words of wisdom.
Graveside with Military Honors will be held Wednesday, October 3rd @ 1 pm, at the Yellowstone National Cemetery in Laurel. Arrangements are being handled by Heights Family Funeral Home. A reception will follow at 1096 Hickory Drive in Lockwood.
