Carol Lynn Link passed away suddenly and unexpectedly from natural causes on Saturday, March 23, 2019 in her home. She had just celebrated her 66th birthday surrounded by loving family.
Carol was born in Glasgow, MT March 21, 1953, and grew up in Fort Peck until her family moved to Fort Smith in 1968. She was the fourth of five children born to James and Gertrude Nichols.
After graduating from Hardin High in 1971, Carol met her soulmate and the love of her life, Norman Link on her birthday 48 years ago. They soon married and welcomed two children, Shane and Becky.
In recent years, Carol most loved working in her yard and doing project with Norman, her two children, many grandchildren, and her beloved yellow lab, Bogie.
A natural caregiver and empath, Carol’s love and support for her family was generous and constant. We never had to wonder how much she loved us, because she told us often, she hugged often, she gave generous gifts, and she was known to also just show up to help clean house, install a garden, or mow a lawn – inspiring everyone to have fun getting the job done together. Moving forward without Carol’s supportive hugs, smiles, and enthusiastic encouragement in all things will be an immense challenge for those of us who weren’t prepared to say goodbye.
Carol is survived by her husband of 48 years, Norman Link, children Shane and Becky Link, seven grandchildren Taylor, Shelby, Elias, Sydney, Greer, Shane II and Elgin, her siblings Gloria (George), Jan (Rich), Jamie (Teri), and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother Gertrude, father James, and brother Howard.
A memorial will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, those who wish may donate in Carol’s memory to the Yellowstone Valley Animal Shelter.
