December 19, 1928- November 27, 2018

Janice Mildred Hobbs left her earthly life with her family by her side on November 27, 2018 to be with her Lord on the wings of angels.

            Janice Mildred was born to Joseph and Bertha Barr Douglas on December 19, 1928 in Hysham, Montana.

In 1946 she graduated from Hysham High School.  Her yearbook describes Janice’s favorite pastime as talking and her ambition was to become rich. She became rich in the value of family.

 After high school she went on to attend business college.  Janice began her career life working first for Gamble Company.  From here she went to work in the oil and gas industry.  She worked  for Phillips 66 for almost 20 years until Phillips left Montana. She then went to work for Rocky Mountain Oil and Gas as Office Manager until  retiring in 1990.  During this time she was a member and past president of Desk & Derrick, Montana chapter. She worked as a volunteer at the Billings Senior Center for a while.

Janice loved gardening and as a hobby for her passion of home interior design she sold Home Interiors for many years.

            Janice married Vernon G. Hobbs in Red Lodge, Montana and became widowed in December 1990.  She leaves behind five children Eric (Debbie) Hobbs, Susan (Pat) Schmaing, Roxy (Chuck) Jensen, David Hobbs, and Jeff Hobbs.  She is a grandmother of 7, a great grandmother of 7, and great great grandmother of 3.  Janice is preceded in death by seven siblings.

A funeral will be held at 10:00 a.m. at Heights Family Funeral Home on Saturday, December 1, 2018.  Janice will be laid to rest following the service at Rockvale Cemetery.
