Martha Fenter, 83 of Billings, passed into the arms of her God on February 17, 2020.  Martha was born on November 5, 1936, in Billings MT, to Peter and Velma (Fennell) Boukas.  She was raised alongside her sisters Mary and Margie.  She attended Billings Senior High and later Billings Business College.  She worked in banking for a short time, and later for the Billings Livestock Reporter until she married.

Shortly after Darrel Kelley Fenter returned to Billings after serving Uncle Sam for two years in Okinawa, Japan, he married his beloved Martha, then 19 years old, on February 14, 1956.  They eventually were blessed with three children: Kathy Lynn, Kelley Wade, and Yvonne Dee (Vonnie).

Prior to starting a family, Martha and Darrel moved to Cortez, CO, where she worked as a secretary for a construction company until their daughter Kathy was born.  From that time on, Martha was a full-time wife, mother, and homemaker.  Throughout her entire life, Martha was faithful to the Lord, and loved teaching children the Bible.  This was one of her greatest works of service for the Lord.  Besides serving the Lord, the most important thing in her life was her loving husband, her dear children, and later, her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Martha is preceded in death by her parents and sister, Mary.  Those to grieve her loss include her husband Darrel; children Kathy Smolenski (Edgewood, NM) , Kelley and Nance Fenter (Orlando, FL) and Vonnie and Mark Lange (Billings, MT); sister Margie Franklin (Dennis); 6 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

The family would like to extend a great deal of thanks to all the members of the Billings Church of Christ for all the support through the past months, and to the loving nurses and all the people at Compassus Hospice who have helped us during this time of our lives, and especially through this time of sorrow.

A Service of Remembrance will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 29, 2020, at Billings Church of Christ, 10th and Alderson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Mountain States Children’s Home, P.O. Box 1097, Longmont, CO 80502.
