Robert R. Davisson
April 11, 1943 – Jan. 15, 2019
Robert R. Davisson, 75, of Homer, Alaska (formerly of Fort Smith, Montana) died on Jan. 15, 2019, at home.
He passed away with his wife by his side, the family wrote.
He was born April 11, 1943 in Crow Agency, Montana. Bob served in the Army and received his honorable discharge in 1964.
He met his soulmate, Jane Mocabee and married November 1964. They made their home in Yellowtail Dam where he worked for the National Park Service for the next 28 years. Upon retiring, Bob and his wife ran a shuttle and lunch business for local fishing guide shops until moving to his little slice of heaven in Homer, Alaska.
Together they built their retirement home from the ground up, opening their door to anyone venturing their way. Bob was an avid outdoorsman, a MacGyver (he could make anything out of nothing) and would help anyone in need. His grandchildren were one of his greatest accomplishments and “Papa Bob” would wonder how the numbers grew so quickly.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years Jane; sons Robert Rhett (April) Hardin, and Dale (Felecia) of North Dakota; daughter Wanda (Mark) of Alaska; 10 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; brother, Juell (Bugs) Davisson; god daughter First Sgt. Arlena Leider-Willis of Colorado; and numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday May 25, 2019 at Big Horn Baptist Church in Fort Smith, MT.
