The light of our lives is forever dimmed. Tera McCarthy Clough went to her heavenly father on October 9, 2018 at the age of 44. The pain she felt was greater than all the love we had for her. She is now at peace.
Tera attended school at Newman Elementary, Riverside Junior High, and graduated from Billings Central Catholic High School and MSU-Billings, an accomplishment she was very proud of.
In 2014 Tera married the love of her life Mike Clough (“I love you, Sweet Pea”), adding to her family two daughters who she loved like her own, Madisyn Clough-Stickney, her son Caanon, and Chloe Clough-Stickney.
Anyone who knew Tera knew her best for her humor and wit, her ability to bring joy to others through laughter, and her servant’s heart. Her time at Head Start was one of the happiest periods in her life. Tera had the most recorded volunteer hours there. Tera was not only the life of every party but also the light of our lives. Her compassion and love for others will never be forgotten.
She had a unique and strong bond with her sisters, brothers, nieces and nephews, and friends. If you were lucky enough to be loved by Tera, you were loved passionately for life. She made all of us feel like we were her favorite.
Tera was preceded in death by her beloved grandparents Wayne & Lorene McCarthy and Don & Mary Forgrave, brother-in-law Mike O’Donnell, mother-in-law Lorene Ann Clough, and Great Grandmother Elizabeth Swain.
She is survived by her husband Michael Clough, sons Aiden & Evan DeBolt and their father Dan DeBolt, step-daughter Madisyn Clough-Stickney and her son Caanon, step-daughter Chloe Clough-Stickney; parents Mike & Terry McCarthy; her 3 brothers – Mick (Darcy) McCarthy of Billings, Kelly (Glenda) McCarthy of Alice Springs, Australia, John (Rebecca) McCarthy of Von Ormy, TX – and her two sisters – Erin (Paul) Schmidt of Billings and Lori (George) Dotson of Billings – her “other brother from a different mother” Max (Jeanette) Boni of Schauffhausen, Switzerland; nieces and nephews Sinead McCarthy, Kyle Duneman (Nakeesha), Megan McCarthy, Casey McCarthy, Kathleen O’Donnell (Casey) and their son Gabe, Danielle McCarthy, Johnna McCarthy (Dimitri), Shealynn O’Donnell, Jordan McCarthy-Perez, Ethan Dotson (Carrington), Kristen McCarthy, Emma Dotson & Montana, Grace, & Kyle Wayne McCarthy; numerous Aunts, Uncles, Cousins; her best friend Suzanne Odegaard, and her “91 year old boyfriend” Sterling Shock.
Tera fought a hard battle for many years, so please, remember that others are fighting the same battle of depression and addiction. Be aware…pray…reach out…be present and supportive in their recovery. Our thanks goes out to all those in AA who loved, supported, and helped her all they could.
A Memorial account has been established at Western Security Bank in her name to help with expenses and to help fund her sons’ education, or give to your favorite charity in her memory.
Vigil will be held at Heights Funeral Home, 733 W Wicks Ln in Billings at 7pm Wednesday Oct. 17, 2018 with visitation beginning at 5:30pm. Memorial services will be held at Harvest Church, 1235 W Wicks Ln in Billings at 4pm on Thursday Oct. 18, 2018.
“Love Your Guts!! Miss Your Face!!”
Rest in Peace, Sweet Tera
