WILLIAM EARL CLAWSON, 70, passed away unexpectedly on October 22, 2019, surrounded by his loving family.
On May 19, 1949, Bill was born to Donald and Hildegard (Glumbik) Clawson and grew up in Lodge Grass. He graduated with a civil engineering degree from Montana State University in Bozeman. This is where Bill met his college sweetheart, Cheri, and married her 50 years ago. They raised their children, Scott and Ashley (Abbey) in Billings. Bill loved spending time with his children, granddaughters, and great-grands… he was very proud of his “tribe”.
Bill had a well established heritage in Montana. He shared stories of the family homestead in Rockvale, anecdotes of the family business in Lodge Grass, and was still doing repairs on the family cabin in Silvergate. Bill retired earlier this year as a Professional Engineer and consultant. His plans were to continue improving his golf game.
Bill is survived by his wife Cheri, son Scott (Karen), daughter Ashley Abbey (Mike), granddaughters Brooke Koopman, Taylor Kortan and Bella Abbey, great-grandchildren Grace, Norma, Addison, Lucille and Brody, siblings Joseph, Nancy Cormier, John, Richard, and many nieces and nephews.
Join us for a celebration of Bill’s life on Saturday, October 26, 2019, Heights Family Funeral Home, 733 W Wicks Lane, Billings MT 59105. Memorial talk begins at 2:00 pm, officiated by William Frates, followed by refreshments.
