Edith Idellis (Fleck) Carew, 99, passed away peacefully on September 22, 2019, at Tendernest Assisted Living in Billings, Montana. Edith was born on July 30, 1920, in Grassy Butte, North Dakota, to Matthew and Frances (Kowis) Fleck.
Edith met and married her true love, Robert John Carew, in October 1940. They made their home in Wibaux, Montana, where they proudly raised five children: Judy, Linda, Susan, Robert, and Tammy. She enjoyed gardening and taking care of her yard and flowers. Edith loved babies, and truly loved each of her Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren. She was incredibly loving and enjoyed time with her family very much.
Edith was preceded in death by her parents, brothers: Frank Fleck, Raymond Fleck, Martin Fleck, sister Margaret Verplanke, and son Robert Wayne Carew.
She is survived by her daughters: Judy (Mike Traynor) Strobel of Malta, Linda (Robert) DeBlasi of Riverside, CA, Susan (Lewis) Beddow of Billings, and Tammy (Keith) Chrans of Gillette, WY. She is also survived by her sister Connie Swenson of Glendive, 13 Grandchildren, and 20 Great-Grandchildren.
Edith’s family and friends will celebrate her remarkable life on Sunday, September 29th, at 11:00 at the Heights Family Funeral Home with Reverend Dana Lee Keener officiating. A reception will follow. Interment will be on a later date to be determined.
